{Guest Post} 5 Ways To Say Thank You To Your Wedding Guests

Wedding days are so very special and significant… not only do they mark the time when a bride and groom make a public declaration of their desire to officially join their lives together, but it also allows their nearest and dearest the opportunity to celebrate the occasion right along with them. And being that often guests come from all over the country (and sometimes even the world) in order to partake in the wedding day festivities, it’s always a nice touch when the bride and groom find a way to acknowledge their guests for making the effort to attend. Here are a few creative ways to say “thank you” to your beloved family and friends on your upcoming nuptials.

Let them be the “DJ”

Here’s something fun you can do to get your guests involved even before your wedding day happens. You definitely don’t want to be the only ones on the dance floor at your reception, so include a small card in your invitation where your guests can make song requests. Then when it comes time for your reception, your DJ can shout out to various guests before playing the particular song that they asked for.
Wedding Favors

Giving out wedding favors at your reception is the most traditional way to thank your guests for coming to support you on your big day. Some people give candles, others give homemade desserts, or for you techies out there, you can send them home with a flash drive filled with pictures that were taken throughout the day. The sky is really the limit, and the more creative you get the more likely your wedding will stand out from the rest.

Write a “thank you” message on your wedding program

Many couples include a customized message on the back of their wedding program, to show their appreciation to those who attend. It’s sentimental, inexpensive and it’s a nice surprise for guests to read as they’re waiting for the wedding ceremony to begin.

Have something personalized

There are several thoughtful gifts that you can have personalized that will make your guests feel appreciated. For example, handkerchiefs with a message such as, “thanks for sharing in our joy” embroidered on them so they won’t have to search for a tissue during the ceremony. Or perhaps some footies or slippers that have “thanks for dancing with us” written across the soles so they don’t have to keep their shoes on as they dance the night away at the reception. You can even get wine glasses personalized so each guest can take it home with them. The options are endless!

After all the time and effort you’ve spent making sure your wedding day is perfect, it is always nice to make the time to say “thank you” to those who helped you pull off the wedding day you’ve always dreamed of.
